Aires looking for new markets

Colombian regional carrier Aires, is the latest carrier to request proposals via Route Exchange. The Bogota based operator is seeking proposals from airports in the US as well as Latin America. It has a fleet of B737 and Dash 8 aircraft.

On November 25th Aires launched a daily rotation between Bogota and the Florida city of Fort Lauderdale with B737-300 aircraft, its first steps into the US market. With strong VFR links there is strong demand from Florida to fly to South America.

There is already two carriers operating between Bogota and Fort Lauderdale

• Avianca operates 16 weekly flights with A320 and B757 aircraft
• Low cost operator Spirit Airlines also operates 16 weekly frequencies with A319 aircraft.
