Air India cuts costs
In a move to trim costs and secure its own recovery in the economic downturn, Air India has reverted back to a restructuring programme targeting its routes and fleet.
In order to stem further losses, the national carrier will cut almost a quarter of its aircraft fleet - from 166 to 105 planes by March 2011 and is expecting a bail out from the Indian government by 31st March, according to a report by the Centre of Asia Pacific Aviation.
