Wideroe—a regional airline that was acquired by Norwegian Group in 2023—is looking to expand its 50-aircraft fleet, which currently includes De Havilland Canada Dash 8s and Embraer E190-E2s.

“We are expecting to expand our fleet; however, no decisions are official yet,” a Wideroe spokesperson told ATW ahead of the European Regions Airline Association (ERA) general assembly in Belfast.

Wideroe’s fleet comprises 26 De Havilland Canada Dash 8-100/200s, three Dash 8-300s, 18 Dash-8-400s and three Embraer E190-E2s.

When asked whether the additions would be jets or turboprops, the spokesperson declined to comment.

Over the next 12-24 months, Wideroe will be focused on a fleet renewal and life extension program, cost reductions, network profitability and operational efficiency.

The spokesperson said adjusting the fleet to seasonal demand is a priority.
