Saudia Cargo is expanding its dedicated freighter fleet with four Boeing 777-200 aircraft as part of its long-term growth strategy.
The first aircraft is due for delivery in the fourth quarter, with the remaining three arriving progressively through 2027. The move forms part of a plan to double Saudia Cargo’s dedicated cargo fleet and strengthen operational capabilities in support of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Kingdom’s National Transport and Logistics Strategy.
Loay Mashabi, CEO and managing director of Saudia Cargo, said the order builds on a long-standing ambition to grow the airline’s international footprint.
“We initiated this vision years ago to enhance our capabilities and expand our global presence. The addition of four new freighters is the first step in this phase, reinforcing the value we deliver to our customers and partners,” Mashabi said.
The new freighters will boost capacity to meet rising demand in e-commerce, exports and international freight.
“Saudia Cargo’s order for Boeing 777 Freighters is a testament to the airplane’s unmatched performance and versatility,” Omar Arekat, VP of commercial sales and marketing for the Middle East at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said. “The agreement strengthens our longstanding partnership with Saudia Group, which has spanned over 75 years.”
The expansion follows a strong 2025 for Saudia Cargo, which carried more than 570,000 metric tons of cargo across over 90 destinations, with continued growth in revenue, national exports and e-commerce shipments, and an on-time performance rate above 90%.
