EasyJet will add 18 routes from 10 UK airports during summer 2027, continuing to broaden its leisure network ahead of the expected completion of Apollo’s £5.7 billion ($7.6 billion) acquisition of the airline.
The additions will provide 35X-weekly outbound frequencies at their peak, connecting UK airports with 16 destinations across Bulgaria, Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Montenegro and Spain.
Spain accounts for six of the additions, including the LCC’s first UK services to Girona. Liverpool-Girona flights will start March 28 and operate 2X-weekly, followed by a 3X-weekly London Gatwick-Girona service from June 3. The carrier will also add 2X-weekly flights from Aberdeen to Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, Liverpool to Murcia and Edinburgh to Bilbao.
Scotland receives the largest concentration of new routes. Alongside the two additions from Aberdeen, EasyJet will connect Edinburgh with Bilbao, Hamburg, Rome Fiumicino and Tivat. All six routes will operate 2X-weekly.
Other additions include London Gatwick-Ajaccio, Bristol-Montpellier, Manchester-Bastia, Birmingham-Milan Malpensa, Birmingham-Tivat and Bristol-Burgas, each operating twice per week. Newcastle-Larnaca and London Luton-Thessaloniki will operate weekly, while London Southend-Rhodes will be offered 2X-weekly.
The Southend route forms part of a wider expansion at the airport, where EasyJet will base a fourth Airbus A320neo from summer 2027. The additional aircraft is expected to support about 400 direct and indirect jobs, while Southend forecasts passenger traffic will exceed 1 million in 2027.
Overall, 15 of the 18 routes will operate twice per week, while only London Gatwick-Girona will receive 3X-weekly frequencies. The remaining two will operate weekly.
OAG Schedules Analyser data shows EasyJet offered approximately 23.45 million departure seats from UK airports during summer 2026, up 5.2% from 22.29 million a year earlier. Frequencies increased by 3.9% to about 130,400, while the number of airport pairs served rose from 539 to 599, an increase of 11.1%. The carrier added 74 routes and removed 14 between the two seasons, producing a net increase of 60.
Spain remained EasyJet's largest international market from the UK during summer 2026, with approximately 4.55 million departure seats, up 7.3% year over year. The number of UK-Spain routes increased by 15 to 123.
Italy was another area of expansion, with capacity increasing 11.1% to 1.62 million seats and the number of routes rising from 45 to 55.
The network announcement comes ahead of Apollo’s proposed acquisition of EasyJet, which is expected to close during the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approval. Apollo’s ownership will be capped at 49.9% to comply with European airline ownership requirements.
