Air Canada has added five routes to Latin America for the upcoming Northern Hemisphere winter season, including two to Lima, Peru.

From Dec. 5, the airline will open service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Lima’s Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM). The service will operate 2X-weekly on a seasonal basis through March 27, 2026.

From Dec. 6, the carrier will commence service between Montreal Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and LIM. That route will be flown 2X-weekly through March 28, 2026. Air Canada will additionally open 1X-weekly flights between YUL and Belize from Dec. 8, operating the route through April 7, 2026.

The carrier will also add two new routes to Mexico. Flights will operate weekly between YYZ and Puerto Escondido from Dec. 17 to April 8. During that same period, Air Canada will fly weekly between Vancouver International Airport and Tepic, Mexico.

“Air Canada is further diversifying its global network this winter … by capitalizing on strong leisure demand to sought-after vacation destinations,” CCO and President for Cargo Mark Galardo said. “Our new flights are designed to provide easy connections for both Canadian and European travelers, as well as to take advantage of cargo opportunities in the region.”

The airline said the new Mexico routes serve “under-the-radar vacation destinations.” The carrier described Puerto Escondido, on the country’s Pacific coast, as “a laid-back surf haven.”

Tepic is the capital of the western Mexican state of Nayarit. Air Canada said it is attracted to the route because a new highway will connect Tepic and Puerto Vallarta, which are about 100 mi. apart.

According to CAPA – Centre for Aviation data, Air Canada accounts for a 31% share of two-way seats between Canada and Mexico, followed by WestJet's 27% share and Aeromexico’s 14%.

The carrier previously announced it will launch 3X-weekly flights between YYZ and Guadalajara, Mexico, operating the route from Nov. 4 to April 28, 2026.

Air Canada has said it will offer 16% more capacity year-over-year between Canada and the Caribbean and Latin America for the upcoming winter season, highlighted by a new 3X-weekly YYZ–Rio de Janeiro/Galeão service operating between Dec. 4 and March 28, 2026.

The airline will operate more than 80,000 weekly seats to 52 destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America for the 2025-26 winter season.
