Malaysia’s transport minister told media Sunday that a piece of debris found on Reunion Island last week is from a Boeing 777. The statement raises confidence that this may be the first piece of wreckage to be recovered from flight MH370 which vanished last year.

A second piece of wreckage, possibly an aircraft door, has been found on Reunion Island in the southern Indian Ocean, the BBC reported Sunday, Aug. 2. The discovery follows that of a large piece of debris found last week on the island and which is believed to be a wing flap from a large airliner.
