Delta Air Lines took delivery of the first of eight 777-200LRs Friday, becoming the first US carrier to add the type to its fleet. Aircraft will enter service March 8 on Atlanta-Los Angeles and will operate ATL-Tokyo Narita the following day. President and CFO Edward Bastian said it was DL's first new delivery from Boeing in six years.

Finnair placed an order for three additional E-190s for delivery in 2010-11. "Through the order we have ensured the availability of capacity under present conditions. The airline manufacturers' order books are full for years ahead and we forecast that our European traffic will grow in the wake of Asian traffic," Senior VP-Finnair Scheduled Passenger Traffic Henrik Arle said. It took delivery of its seventh E-190 last week and will take one more this year plus two in 2009. It also has seven E-170s on order.

PECO said it won US FAA Parts Manufacturer Approval for more than 1,600 of the assemblies and components it supplies to Boeing. Based in Portland, Ore., PECO provides OEMs with interior products such as passenger service units, flight attendant modules, reading light assemblies, spacer panels and cabin air diffusers. The approval is part of a PECO initiative to advance these parts in the aftermarket. "Boeing and the FAA have been excellent partners in our drive to obtain this approval and launch the program," President and CEO Scott Smith told Airline Procurement.

Telair International will provide Boeing with its cargo-handling system for 747-8s including main deck and lower hold systems for the 747-8 freighter and lower hold systems for the 747-8 intercontinental. Features include control system networking and two-way communication between intelligent power drive units.

Precision Air Services took delivery of its first ATR 72-500. The Tanzanian airline ordered five in 2006 and one more in 2007; the remaining five are to be delivered in 2008-10.
