Zambia to host IATA Dangerous Goods training course

The IATA Dangerous Goods training course will take place on June 2-7 2013 in Lusaka, Zambia.

After completing the course, participants will be familiar with the contents of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and the basic principles governing the transport of dangerous goods.

Specifically, the participants will be able to:

• apply the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations correctly;

• differentiate between shipper’s and operator’s responsibilities;

• identify dangerous goods which are:

◦ forbidden from air transport;

◦ allowed as cargo for air transport;

◦ excepted from the Regulations;

• apply the basic principles to identify and classify the dangerous goods;

• apply the general and specific packing requirements or verify that they have been complied with;

• complete the required Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods or verify that this document have been prepared in accordance with the regulations;

• Follow safety and emergency procedures

• Network with colleagues
