Duties / Responsibilities
Working with the Operations Control team coordinating and directing the client’s operations i.e. transport activity on the day, acting as a communication centre and providing operational services for other groups
Coordinate and supervise the Section Chief Pilots, Fleet Managers and Flight Operations support.
Determine all flight operational standards and practices, and to ensure their compliance with all relevant national and international regulations and with the provisions of the AOC.
Liaise with all other company departments, in aiming for the highest possible degree of safety and for obtaining a satisfactory degree of punctuality, passenger comfort and economy.
Represent, as far as flight operations are concerned, the company’s interests in national and international bodies and institutions.
Job purpose
Responsible for delivering outstanding and consistent management of the pilot workgroup. You will be directly responsible for the day to day management of the fleet’s pilots and associated administration.

Qualifications
Experience
• Proven experience of Flight Operations Management 10 years work experience, 7 of which should have been in management positions within a medium - large sized airline. Fully qualified in respect to industry regulations. Likely to be in 40 – 55 age bracket.
• Ability to take strategic view. Proactive. Will help define the future direction of the company.
• Relevant Degree preferably in business management or equivalent work experience
• 5 years minimum Flight Operations management (ie in Post holder flight Operations position) a prerequisite
• Current captain/Pilot in Command licensing (on Boeing and/or Airbus) would be a significant advantage though not a necessarily a show stopper.
