MEBA: Royal Jet sticks with Boeing and adds Bombardier to fleet
Abu Dhabi's award winning private aviation specialist, Royal Jet, has added a new Bombardier Learjet 60XR business jet (A6-RJE) and a Bombardier Global 5000 business jet (A6-RJC) to its fleet. A second Bombardier Global 5000 (A6-RJD) will enter into service in January 2015, with a second Learjet 60XR business jet will follow before May. The company also confirmed it is to take delivery of two new Boeing business jets (BBJ).
The Bombardier and Boeing aircraft are part of Royal Jet’s fleet replacement and expansion programme that will increase the fleet to 20 aircraft by the year 2020 at a cost of $700 million.
Royal Jet repeated at the MEBA show that it is also considering aircraft from Airbus, Bombardier’s CS300 and Gulfstream for future acquisitions. Today, Royal Jet is operating 11 aircraft made up of six Boeing Business Jets, two Gulfstream G300s, two Bombardier Learjet 60s and one Bombardier Global 5000. It is has the largest BBJ fleet in the world.
