SINGAPORE—Airbus Helicopters inaugurated a new helicopter logistics center in Singapore that will serve as its primary parts distribution hub for the Asia-Pacific region, supported by existing sites in Hong Kong and Perth.

The 2,000-m2 (21,500-ft.2) facility stocks more than 20,000 part numbers supporting new spares distribution and maintenance, repair and overhaul operations. It also includes a dedicated 55-m2 elastomers storage room for components made from materials such as rubber that are susceptible to degradation. The temperature-controlled space, maintained between 5C (41F) and 25C, can accommodate around 2,000 temperature-sensitive parts.

Airbus says the site has an initial inventory value of €10 million ($12 million), which is expected to double as the facility reaches full operational capacity.

Operations at the logistics center are supported by third-party provider Ceva Logistics. The company says it handles approximately 200 helicopters and “hundreds of thousands” of associated parts globally each year.
