Bahrain gets show of confidence with chalet sign-ups
Farnborough International Limited has said it is on track for a good Bahrain airshow and has confirmed its first run of chalet sales for the inaugural Bahrain International Airshow.
Companies signed up to the event since invitations to participate were issued in mid-February 2009 include: Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems, TAG Aeronautics, Bell Helicopter, Cessna and
Bahrain Aerospace.
The company says that this broad representation across sectors of the global aerospace community demonstrates the wide appeal of the show, which will be organised by the Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) for the Kingdom of Bahrain and Farnborough International Ltd, under Royal patronage.
Work continues on development of the showground at Sakhir Airbase and has said that the event itself is in the advanced stages of planning featuring as one of its biggest incentives a comprehensive delegations programme.
The format of the inaugural show will comprise a chalet complex of only 40 units and no exhibition halls in what the show organiser said will be five star luxury and exclusivity throughout. It said that the show will offer a high level corporate hospitality platform for business-to-business networking.
Exhibitions & Events Director, Amanda Stainer commented: “We are absolutely delighted to be able to confirm our first chalet sales for the Bahrain International Airshow. It is not surprising given the many challenges in the current global financial climate, that major players from the aerospace industry are now more keen than ever to maximise their presence in one of the world’s more dynamic regional market places. It has been widely suggested in the Middle Eastern press recently that Bahrain has one of the few economies which expects to benefit as the world recovers from the economic downturn and is therefore not only a place to do business now, but also presents excellent long term potential for developing regional operational bases.”
Mr. Mansour Ojjeh, President of TAG Group said: “We are very excited about the launch event of the Bahrain International Airshow. An event in Bahrain was very much needed for some time now and Farnborough International’s plans suggest that it will be very different from anything the Middle Eastern aviation calendar has seen before. We are looking forward with enthusiasm to the quality and quantity of opportunities this show looks sure to present.”
