AFRAA venue for 2016 will be Brazzavile
Next year, the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) will hold its 47th Annual General Assembly (AGA) in Republic of the Congo, hosted by local carrier ECAir.
Brazzaville was announced as the venue for the November 2015 AGA during the wrap-up session of this year’s AFRAA AGA in Algiers.
Traditionally, the AGA is hosted by AFRAA’s president. This is a year-long role, held by the CEO of one of AFRAA’s members. ECAir CEO Fatima Beyina-Houssa is replacing Air Algerie CEO Mohamed Salah Boultif as AFRAA president for 2015.
“ECAir is honoured and humbled to be chosen by our association to host the 47th AFRAA Annual General Assembly,” said Beyina-Houssa, speaking during the closing ceremony Algiers. “ECAir is happy to welcome you next year to Brazzaville, at centre of beautiful continent, Republic of Congo. We are looking forward to giving you taste of central Africa while discussing challenges our industry faces.”
ECAir was created in 2011, with the goal of turning Brazzaville into a hub for central Africa.
