Tanzania has joined the growing number of African nations to operate Leonardo’s C-27J Spartan airlifter.

Tanzania's largest city is being added as part of a wider expansion in East Africa.

The Abu Dhabi-based airline said the service is attracting transit passengers from across Europe.

The carrier is also restarting a host of routes from CDG suspended by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Destinations in Tanzania, Oman and Sri Lanka are being added to the carrier’s international network.

Capacity is 'regrettably' being trimmed in Europe in response to new lockdown measures.
