The return to operations for Italian regional carrier SkyAlps’ seven grounded de Havilland Canada Dash 8-400s will be gradual.

The Italian Civil Aviation Authority says it has grounded seven De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400s operated by SkyAlps because of maintenance concerns.

Italian regional Sky Alps says it will double its fleet to 14 De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400s during 2024.

Sky Alps provide details of their growth ambitions including the addition of 10 new aircraft to their fleet.

The Bolzano-based carrier, which first launched flights in June, was temporarily grounded.

Past attempts at scheduled services from Balzano have failed economically.
