Silver Airways

Work is starting on a new international facility that aims to increase the breadth of destinations offered from the Florida airport.

US regional carrier Silver Airways is adding New Orleans to its route map from June.

The routes will be operated with ATR 72-600 turboprops.

American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, JetBlue, Spirit and a host of other carriers are taking part.

With only 110 daily flights to Cuba on offer, some of the biggest players in the US market are fighting for the coveted spots. Thirteen carriers will go head to head for the slots, with American Airlines leading the requests, hoping to cater to the vast Cuban-American population of Miami
