After years of rumors, Airbus has confirmed the Indonesian Ministry of Defense has ordered two Airbus A400M transport aircraft and signed a letter of intent for four more. The contract, which includes a maintenance and training support package, takes effect in 2022.

The fiscal 2022 spending request forwarded to Congress on May 28 proposes fewer units of aircraft across all fleets, including fighters; mobility; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; and rotorcraft.

Britain’s Royal Air Force (RAF) has taken delivery of its first Lockheed Martin C-130J Hercules to be given a new center wing box replacement.

The 757-200s perform a variety of roles for the Air Force, including VIP transport. Their replacement begins phase two of the RNZAF’s mobility fleet recapitalization process.

The nearly $4 billion in procurement reprogramming is taken from the U.S. Navy, Air Force, and National Guard.

Recovery teams have found components of the aircraft’s landing gear.
