Although flying relatively under the radar for 30 years, Germania actually carries more than 2.8 million passengers per year from 20 departure airports in Europe to over 40 destinations within the continent, North Africa and the Middle East on a mix of charter and scheduled routes.

Located between Germany's two hub airports of Frankfurt and Munich means Airport Nurnberg may be the small fish in the pond, but it hopes Its Blue Ocean campaign will help deliver new capital city connectivity in the future.

The weekly flight from Toulouse to Oujda will operate every Monday for a three month period from late June until late September and will be scheduled around the daytime period an aircraft would otherwise be sat idle at the southern French airfield after fulfilling its morning Airbus staff shuttle commitment.

Germania first offered flights from the UK early in 2013 utilising one Airbus A319 and one B737-700, and added the third aircraft late in 2013. The airline, headquartered in Berlin, currently offers scheduled direct flights from Gatwick to Erfurt, in Germany, and Pristina, in Kosovo, part of a network of 140 destinations across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East served by a fleet of 22 aircraft – ten Boeing B737-700s, seven Airbus A319s and five Airbus A321s.

The airline plans to increase its summer flight schedule for 2016, to include passenger flights to the Balearic Islands seven days a week, up to twice per day. Germania is also set to station a fourth aircraft at Bremen from 2016 to cater for increased demand.
