Bhutan’s Drukair has announced it will launch Gelephu Airport's first international service to India's Kolkata Airport.

Drukair has signed on with Airbus for three A320neos and two A321XLRs in a move that underlines Bhutan’s ambitions to become better connected.

The landlocked South Asia country has four airports, the largest of which is Paro, west of the capital Thimphu.
