The U.S. Army will cancel a nascent program to field surveillance uncrewed aerial systems (UAS).

The U.S. Army is overhauling most of its major aircraft fleets, including rotary-wing, C4ISR and uncrewed platforms.

AFSOC has been undertaking the plan, called the Adaptive Airborne Enterprise, to have one airman control multiple UAS.

Failing again to field the OH-58 Kiowa’s replacement, the U.S. Army will rely on uncrewed aircraft and space-based assets for the armed reconnaissance mission.

AeroVironment is planning offerings for two new U.S. Army uncrewed aircraft system programs.

The biggest change is in procurement of the Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk, which is reduced as planned to 36 aircraft from 74 in 2020.
