The provision in the CARES Act may have unintended consequences for US airlines receiving government aid.

CEO Jude Bricker has moved the carrier to a low-cost model that has lowered fares by an average of $35.

American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, JetBlue, Spirit and a host of other carriers are taking part.

This week: Sun Country grows its network from Nashville; IndiGo adds more routes to Doha; and Aeroflot to resume flights to Dublin.

With only 110 daily flights to Cuba on offer, some of the biggest players in the US market are fighting for the coveted spots. Thirteen carriers will go head to head for the slots, with American Airlines leading the requests, hoping to cater to the vast Cuban-American population of Miami
