France's Safran Helicopter Engines and India's Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) have advanced development of the Aravalli, a 3,500-4,000-shp engine for India's indigenous multi-role helicopter.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited will provide the Indian Air Force and Indian Army with indigenous Prachand light combat helicopters.

The tender moves the 5.8-metric ton Light Combat Helicopter, also known as Prachand, closer to a long-awaited order for full-rate production.
