A 52.5-ft.-long antenna for the ice-penetrating radar instrument aboard the Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (JUICE) spacecraft has failed to fully deploy.

An Ariane 5 launched the European Space Agency's JUICE mission which will explore three of Jupiter’s icy moons.

An Ariane 5 heavy launcher is scheduled to lift off April 13 with a probe designed to determine whether Jupiter’s icy moons meet the conditions for life.
