Hornell Speedglas Inc. introduced its Fresh-air II SA 9000 respiratory system, which it says is appropriate for welding applications that generate high levels of particle fumes and gases. Air supply hoses up to 100 ft. long connect air-flow valves to a fresh-air purification and regulation panel. Panel filters standard shop compressed air so it complies with OSHA, CSA and ISO standards for respirable supplied air. Three air-flow valve models are available. Control-air valve allows adjustment of airflow rate; cool-air valve allows the user to cool the air by up to 45 deg.
