York Space Systems plans to quadruple its fleet of satellites on orbit over the next 21 months.

The company, which has 33 satellites in space, aims to deploy 107 more through this year and next, Chief Financial Officer Kevin Messerle said on the company’s first quarterly financial report since going public in January.

That projection does not include a 20-plus commercial satellite constellation the company secured in February, valued at $187 million. York did not disclose the customer, but CEO Dirk Wallinger said it should be the first in a series of constellation deals with the client.

While timing of the launch sequence is still being defined, Wallinger said the first spacecraft of these M-class-based spacecraft is making progress. “We are very far long in production. Shipping is imminent,” Wallinger told analysts.

York projects $545 million to $595 million in sales for this year, up from $386 million, with contract award activity picking up later in the year. Although the company sees commercial opportunities growing, the bulk of the business will remain national security related. Wallinger noted the company sees an $11 billion business pipeline and is building up production capacity to produce 1,000 satellites a year.

This month the company disclosed the acquisition of electric-propulsion provider Orbion Space Technology, and is considering further deals. “There will be some other things like Orbion that make sense,” Wallinger said.
