GAMECO Launches State-Of-The-Art Comprehensive Structural Repair Center
In December 2021, GAMECO announced the establishment of its Composite Repair Center (CRC), where specializing in structural repair, processing, craftsmanship, and engineering for composite materials and sheet metal structures, providing customers with parts repair, overhaul and AOG support function.
I. Comprehensive Structural Repair Capability
CRC backed by a team of over 200 professionals and multiple international aviation certificates, including AS9100, AS9110, and NADCAP, along with comprehensive capabilities as listed below:
1. Machining Capabilities: CNC machining, sheet metal forming, tube forming;
2. Specialty Processes: heat treatment, surface treatments, welding, and thermal spraying;
3. NDT Capabilities: eddy current, penetration, magnetic particle, X-ray, and thermography.
CRC is excelled in composite material and sheet metal structure’s major repair and modification, such as the integral replacement of the rear skin and bulkhead of the A320 series aircraft, modification of the advanced composite wing stringer of the B787 aircraft, integral replacement of the Trent XWB inlet lip skin, as well as structural part like actuator fitting machining for cargo doors, etc.
II. A Brand-new Component Maintenance Facility
In October 2022, a brand-new component maintenance base of CRC was put into use. With a building area exceeding 18,000m2, it features with a supersize autoclave (4.5 meters in diameter and 8 meters in length) which allows us to accommodate nacelle structural components of all civil aviation aircraft in service and most of the detachable fuselage structural components, together with clean rooms, large overhead cranes, an integral sanding booth, painting and adhesive-drying rooms to fulfil full service of part’s repair and overhaul.
CRC also equipped with a bonded warehouse inside the base facility, which allows us to have an extensive collaboration with international partners concerning component repairs, materials, and spare parts. As an authorized repair station of Spirit, CRC has completed 4 GE90 fan cowl repairs, and its RB211 inlet cowl modification jigs are now installed in place for future usage. Until now, CRC has successfully delivered more than 300 thrust reversers, inlet cowls, radomes, slats and other parts.
III. Diverse Product Services
In addition to parts repair and overhaul, CRC offers a range of flexible and diverse service options. CRC has an independent engineering team which maintains an active cooperation with relevant FAA DERs or EASA DOAs and has DMDOR authorization from CAAC, this enable CRC to solve engineering and airworthiness needs for customers simultaneously, and its AOG team is on standby 24/7 to promptly respond structural repair request or engineering consultation. Further more, CRC has spare parts such as inlet cowls, reversers, and radomes, to provide our customers with spare part and exchange services.
