ORLANDO—Bill Carey, senior editor of Aviation Week Network’s BCA, received the prestigious NBAA Gold Wing Award for Journalism Excellence. NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen presented it at the NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) Newsmakers Breakfast on Oct. 17.

NBAA gives the award to “someone who has written a definitive article related to business aviation on topics that range from safety, security, sustainability and a number of things—but it’s always in depth, on target and it helps us to recognize the challenges we face and how collectively we come together,” Bolen says.

Carey’s BCA feature "AAM On The Ground: Do FBOs Have A Role?"  examines the infrastructure that advanced air mobility will need to succeed and the role FBOs could play.

In accepting the award, Carey thanked NBAA, the judges, the industry and his colleagues. He covers advanced air mobility, avionics, connectivity, air traffic management and aviation safety for Aviation Week.
