Rio Sul Purchases Nordeste
Rio Sul, a regional airline of which Varig is majority owner, has purchased Nordeste Linhas Aereas Regionals, another Brazilian regional, for $7 million. The combined carrier will serve 54 cities, more than any other Brazilian regional, a Varig official said. Rio Sul now serves 39 cities.
