To cope with defense spending cutbacks, Raytheon offered last week to buy out 4,400 hourly employees in Massachusetts as an alternative to layoffs. But it wasn't clear Friday how many total jobs the company hopes to eliminate, nor whether management will go ahead with layoffs if not enough workers...
