Larry Thimmesch of Bell Helicopter accepted certificates for both Beyond Compliance: Agility with Leading Indicators and EVM and Supply Chain Integration with Engineering Development for Bell Helicopter's 525 Relentless.

The Aviation Week Program Excellence awards are the industry’s preeminent honor for strong program performers with innovative ideas, technologies and process improvements. Winners were announced at a gala dinner on November 19, during Aviation Week’s Aerospace & Defense Programs Conference in Litchfield Park, AZ.

Special Projects: Awarded to Gary Kushner, IRIS Program Manager, Star Lab, Lockheed Martin Space Systems for Lockheed Martin IRIS - The Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph. Mr. Kushner is pictured with Aviation Week’s Carole Rickard Hedden, Executive Editorial Director.

Greg Hamilton, President, Aviation Week awarded the Sub-System R&D/SDD award to Ken Hunt, Program Manager, Aerojet Rocketdyne for the Aerojet Rocketdyne J-2X Engine Program.

Boeing’s A-10 Wing Replacement Program took the award for Sub-System Production. The award was presented to Michael D. Jones, Program Manager - A10 Wing Replacement Program, Boeing, by Aviation Week’s Editor-in-Chief, Joe Anselmo.

Tori Wenger, Program Manager 757/767 Large Display System product line, Rockwell Collins picked up the award for Sub-System Sustainment, awarded to Scott M. Pfeiler for the Rockwell Collins 767 Large Display System.

NASA’s Sharon Cobb picked up the System Level Production award for NASA’s Space Launch System, which was awarded to Todd A. May. Greg Hamilton, President, Aviation Week presented the award.

James P. Derr received the award for System Level Sustainment which was presented to him for the Lockheed Martin Automated Flight Service Station (AFSS). He is pictured with Joe Anselmo, Editor-in-Chief, Aviation Week and Greg Hamilton, President, Aviation Week.

The award for System Level R&D/SDD was given to Lockheed Martin for their Integrated Strategic Planning and Analysis Network, Architecture and Integration. Jay Cappellano, ISPAN A&I Chief Engineer, Lockheed Martin IS&GS and Scott Norr, ISC2 Program Manager, Lockheed Martin received the award from Aviation Week’s Greg Hamilton.

Congratulations to Penton’s Aviation Week’s 2014 Program Excellence Awards Winners.

In addition to the Program Excellence Award winners, Aviation Week also honored the recipients of the Best Next Practices Awards. Certificates were presented to the honorees.
Awards were presented by Aviation Week's Michael Bruno and Kendall Pond, VP Business Development, Dassault Systemes.
Joseph Blank of Rockwell Collins and the ARC-210 Tactical Secure Voice Program received the certificate for Using Data Analytics to Maintain Relevancy/Create New Business Models.
Additional honorees in this category were: Honeywell APU Performance Based Logistics Program, Tricia Unger; Lockheed Martin Automated Flight Service Station (AFSS), James P. Derr; Boeing JDAM Modular Weapon Derivatives, Elizabeth R. Kluba; Boeing AH-64E Initial Operational Capability Milestone, Kim Smith; Lockheed Martin Cargo Mission Contract 2, Jerry McDonald.

Colin Dorsett, Honeywell received the honor for Beyond Compliance: Agility with Leading Indicators and EVM for the Orion Program.
