Overall cost of travel
Overall cost of travel dropped 1.7% in September from August due to falling lodging, fuel and airline ticket prices. For the year-to-date, however, lodging prices are up 3.8%, says the Travel Industry Association of America, compared with an increase in the travel price index of 2.8%.
