Michael Lemaire, CEO of Stratos Aircraft in Redmond, Oregon, has had a lifelong interest in aviation. Lemaire first began flying hang gliders, then built a Lancair aircraft from a kit. When he wanted to move from the Lancair to a jet, he couldn’t find the right one. So he sketched out a design for the Stratos 714 very light personal jet on a napkin in a coffee shop.
