Ameco Beijing completed the business class modifications on 16 Airbus A330-200 aircraft operated by Air China. The six-month project marked the first time that Ameco did cabin modifications on A330-200s. The cabin and inflight entertainment systems received upgrades, many which included changes to seats, the floor, passenger service units and overhead bins. Ameco completed this work at its Airbus A380 hangar.

Associated Air Center, StandardAero's VIP aircraft completions center in Dallas, has received a supplemental type certificate to install an Aircell ATG-5000 wireless internet system on a Boeing 757-200 aircraft. StandardAero's business aviation completion facility in Springfield, Ill. helped accomplish the STC in December. The 757-200 aircraft is owned by MLW Aviation and operated by Elan Express.

AFI-KLM E&M performed C checks, repainting and modifications on two Boeing 737-800s for Air Lease Corp. The aircraft have been delivered to their new lessees, Caribbean Airlines and Transaero Airlines. AFI-KLM E&M did the work at its facilities at Schiphol Amsterdam Airport. AFI KLM E&M had less than a month after Air Lease Corp.'s initial request to prepare for the arrival of the aircraft.

ASME International Gas Turbine Institute has announced seven instructional workshops for engineers and technical professionals looking to broaden their knowledge and proficiency in the gas turbine engineering. The workshops will be held on June 9 and 10, 2012 at the Bella Center in Copenhagen.

Zebra Technologies and Checkpoint Systems have entered in a non-exclusive contract and licensing agreement for RFID solutions. The agreement will bring together Zebra's active location RFID solutions with sensors made by Checkpoint's division OATSystems. Emirates-CAE Flight Training announced that flydubai will be the launch customer for its new training center for pilots and maintenance technicians, set to open in the third quarter at Dubai's Silicon Oasis commercial park. Flydubai has signed a multi-year exclusive training services agreement with the center for next-generation Boeing 737 training. The facility will include four full-flight simulator bays, with plans to expand to up to 10 bays. The simulators will replicate the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft families.
