HAMBURG—Without the 3D glasses, it looks like half a cube sliced vertically, painted purple, yellow and green on the inside. Its walls are a bit concave. With 3D glasses, it transforms to the inside of a large jet aircraft—complete with walls, chairs, tables and lavatories.

Airbus is temporarily slowing down the build rate of its A380s to reduce the number of aircraft that will need to be modified to resolve fatigue cracking in a wing component. The decision will reduce monthly production from 2.7 aircraft to 2.3 aircraft, although Airbus says this will not affect its 2012 delivery target of 30 aircraft. It will, however, result in lower-than-anticipated deliveries in 2013. Airbus is taking a €158 million charge linked to the costs associated with A380 wing component cracking with more costs excepted to follow.

Row 44 is providing its broadband entertainment platform to Transaero Airlines for its narrowbody and Boeing 767 fleets. Inflight services include broadband internet access, live television and video on demand. Passengers will access the services through their personal devices.

AAR received an FAA STC to perform an oxygen system retrofit on a Boeing 747-400 aircraft. A third-party maintenance and modification center in Asia conducted the oxygen system retrofit with support from AAR Engineering Services teams based in Indianapolis and Singapore.
