Global Regulatory Update, Sept. 11-17, 2022

EASA has issued airworthiness directive 2022-0184 for Rolls-Royce Deutschland Tay 620-15s and 650-15s, requiring inspection of high pressure turbine stage 2 intermediate air seal bolts, effective Sept. 9, 2022.

EASA has issued airworthiness directive 2022-0185 for Airbus A319s, A320s and A321s, requiring modification of engine low pressure shut off valve electrical harness routing, effective Sept. 19, 2022.

EASA has issued proposed airworthiness directive 22-123 for Pilatus PC-24s, amending time limits and maintenance checks for airworthiness limitations section, effective 14 days after airworthiness directive is issued.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2022-18-17 for certain MHI RJ Aviation regional jet 900s, requiring an inspection for damage, including dents, cracks, discoloration, gouges, scratches or other surface damage of the lower wing plank in the flap arm areas at certain wing stations; and repair if necessary, effective Oct. 11, 2022.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2022-18-01 for certain Airbus A330-200s, -200 freighters and A330-300s, revising the maintenance or inspection program to incorporate new or more restrictive airworthiness limitations, effective Oct. 11, 2022.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2022-17-07 for all Airbus A350-941s, requiring replacing the inflatable free aisle restrictor on certain single lane slide-rafts, effective Oct. 13, 2022.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2022-14-05 for certain Boeing 777-200s, -200LRs, -300s and -300ERs, requiring repetitive free-play inspections and lubrication of the right and left elevators, rudder and rudder tab, and related investigative and corrective actions if necessary; plus revising the maintenance or inspection program for certain other airplanes to incorporate a revised or new elevator free-play maintenance procedure, effective Oct. 12, 2022.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2022-18-04 for certain GEnx-1Bs, requiring removal and replacement of fuel hydraulic lines, effective Oct. 12, 2022.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2022-18-05 for all Airbus A320-family aircraft, requiring installing improved handling instruction placards on certain doghouses and re-identifying the doghouses, effective Oct. 13, 2022.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2022-17-08 for all Airbus A330-200s, -200 freighters and -300s, revising the airplane flight manual to incorporate procedures to be applied if an engine bleed over-temperature occurs when the associated engine bleed valve is jammed open, and providing for the optional embodiment of updated flight warning computer software, which terminates the manual revision; plus new maintenance tasks and corrective actions and mandates embodiment of the updated FWC software for certain airplanes, effective Oct. 13, 2022.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2022-19-05 for all Airbus A330-841s and -941s, revising the airplane flight manual to incorporate additional limitations prohibiting takeoff for certain airplane configurations, airplane dispatch restrictions using certain provisions of the A330 master MEL or amending the existing FAA-approved operator's MEL and obtaining and accomplishing instructions following certain maintenance messages; plus maintenance actions, including a high-pressure valve seal integrity test, repetitive replacement of the valve clips, revision of the existing manual, and implementation of updates to the MEL, effective Sept. 15, 2022.

Transport Canada has issued airworthiness directive CF-2022-52 for De Havilland Aircraft of Canada DHC-8-401s and DHC-8-402s, requiring replacing part number C148656-1 or C148656-2 with C148656-3, or replacing part 150135-1 or 162660-1 with 162660-2, effective Sept. 15, 2022.
