Editor’s note: We understand that the mud wasp is a vicious varmint. It can build nests in pitot tubes, in crevices near flight control surfaces, in fuel tank vents, in drains or on control cables within aircraft. The rascals have been spotted around Brisbane but may roam to other Australian airports
