Global Regulatory Update, March 11-17, 2018

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia is seeking feedback by March 20, on a new civil aviation advisory publication that provides procedures for performing certain types of non-destructive testing of aircraft or aircraft components.

EASA has issued airworthiness directive 2014-0152R1 for certain Rolls-Royce Trent 500s, 800s and 900s, requiring inspection and modification of intermediate pressure compressor rotor shaft and balance weights, effective March 9.

 

EASA has issued airworthiness directive 2018-0049 for Rolls-Royce Trent 768-60s, 772-60s, 772B-60s and 772C-60s, requiring inspection and modification of intermediate pressure compressor rotor shaft and balance weights, effective March 9.

EASA has issued proposed airworthiness directive 17-132R1 for CFM56-7Bs, requiring inspection of fan blades, effective 14 days after airworthiness directive is issued.

 

EASA has issued safety information bulletin NM-16-21 for Boeing 737-600s, 700s, -700Cs, -800s, -900s and -900ERs, advising procedural changes for horizontal stabilizer position settings during de-icing.

EASA has issued proposed airworthiness directive 18-031 for Fokker F28 Mark 0070s, 0100s, 1000s, 2000s, 3000s and 4000s, requiring replacement of landing gear hydraulic line t-unions, effective 14 days after airworthiness directive is issued.

EASA has issued proposed airworthiness directive 18-032 for Fokker F28 Mark 0070s and 0100s, requiring replacement of landing gear hydraulic line restrictor check valve, effective 14 days after airworthiness directive is issued.

 

EASA has issued proposed airworthiness directive 18-033 for Rolls-Royce Trent 1000s, requiring inspection of intermediate pressure compressor rotor seal and de-pairing limitations, effective 14 days after airworthiness directive is issued.

EASA has issued proposed airworthiness directive 18-034 for Rolls-Royce Trent 1000s, requiring inspection of intermediate pressure compressor rotor seal and de-pairing limitations, effective 14 days after airworthiness directive is issued.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2018-04-12 for all Boeing 737-100s, -200s, -200Cs, -300s, -400s and -500s, requiring installation of new shielded wire bundles and convoluted liners within fuel tank conduits and revision of maintenance or inspection programs, effective April 9.

 

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2018-05-07 for all Boeing 787-8s and 787-9s, requiring an inspection at four locations in the flightdeck to determine whether any crew oxygen mask having a certain part number is installed, and replacement of affected crew oxygen masks, effective April 11. 

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2018-02-17, correcting an earlier airworthiness directive for certain Airbus A330-200s, -200 Freighters and -300s and all A340-200s, -300s, -500s and -600s, effective March 16.

 

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2018-05-11 for certain Airbus A320-214s, -251Ns and -271Ns, requiring inspection for damaged bolts and nuts in fire extinguishing bottle installations and replacement of damaged bolts and nuts, effective March 26.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2018-04-13 for certain Honeywell AS907s, requires applying sealant to identified areas of the electronic control unit and inserting a copy of certain airplane operating procedures into applicable flight manuals, effective April 12.

 

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2018-05-04 for all Airbus A318-111s and -112s, A319-111s, -112s, -113s, -114s and -115s, A320-211s, -212s and -214s and A321-111s, -112s, -211s, -212s and -213s, requiring modification and re-identification or replacement of certain fan cowl doors and installation of a placard, effective April 11.

FAA has issued airworthiness directive 2018-05-06 for certain Boeing 787-8s and 787-9s, requiring repetitive inspections of the bilge barriers located in the forward and aft cargo compartments for disengaged decompression panels, reinstalling any disengaged panels and replacing the existing decompression panels with new panels and straps, effective April 11.

Transport Canada has issued airworthiness directive CF-2018-09 for Bombardier DHC-8-400s, -401s and -402s, requiring modification of the forward lavatory door hinge, effective March 21.
