Avianor | Interiors and Heavy Maintenance
Avianor, based out of the Airport International of Montreal in Quebec, is an interiors company that also completes heavy maintenance checks. Recently, the team completed a cabin make-over in four Airbus A330s with new seats, IFE systems and monument re-facing and modification. One of the aircraft also required a C-check. The entire project including the C-check took 28 days.

“Currently, we are bidding on a number of contracts that focus on the heavy maintenance aspects, but our added value is superior, on-site cabin interior and seating support to these projects, so that the cabin really shines when the aircraft returns to service,” says Earl Diamond, Avianor CEO.

Although it’s not a direct cabin modification, Diamond is noticing the large industry push to add satellite-based connectivity to the aircraft. Concerning seats, Diamond says that the company is still receiving many requests with the provision of refurbished seats.

Aviaon Graphics completes exterior and interior graphics, paint masks, stencil kits, concepts, designs and installations for aircraft. The most recent and visible project was the movie Moana exterior and interior graphics for Hawaiian Airlines.

Avion Graphics’ goals for this year is to simply keep growing the interiors advertising market. Its partner, Global OnBoard Partners, can assist airlines and advertisers finding each other for mutually beneficial relationships, and coordinate the installation and removal of the interior graphics. Avion Graphics then handles the installation of the large format exterior graphics.

BAE Systems | IntelliCabin
BAE Systems introduce the IntelliCabin product line in 2013 and is currently working on a trial with Virgin Australia on the IntelliCabin In-Seat solution. Overall, the product line focuses on cabin power products, technologies and partnerships to provide in-seat outlets and USB power for all passengers and control panels to configure lighting, seat power, inflight entertainment and windows.

BAE Systems | IntelliCabin Cost Savings
The system costs up to 20% less than traditional systems and overcomes power-starvation issues experienced with current systems.

IntelliCabin also provides a smaller in-seat installation footprint due to reduced hardware size and can be tailored to each platform on any airline.

Bojo Tools | Interiors Tooling
Bojo Tools offers composite materials, anti-damage, sealant application and hand tools. It is currently working with MROs and major airlines by providing sealant and removal operations that reduce costs and consequential damage during composite floor panels. British Airways has used the tools for its Airbus fleet in Glasgow and Ryanair has used it on bonded panels in we areas for its Boeing aircraft. Bojo Tools also offers seat rail-track cleaners that can save money during seat replacement.

Douglass Interior Products provides materials for interiors for aircraft, auto, marine and interior design industries. The material options include leather, sheepskin, fabric, carpet and non-textile flooring.

Douglass’ major suppliers are all ISO-14001 accredited, an environmental management system framework a company can follow to be effective in being more environmentally friendly.

Flite Trak | Monitor Passenger Seat Belts
Flite Trak, based in the UK, announced the Viator Aero system, a technology that monitors which passengers have seat belts open, and includes movement sensors to allow monitoring of passengers who need assistance, tracking of passenger movement and logging of broken equipment such as trays, seat belts and screens.

Flite Trak | Private Data
The data, which is not connected to individual passenger’s names, can be controlled through software to show only useful information, and is used with iBlox, a Flite Trak Internet of Things program. No formal training or prior use of the system by flight attendants is required.

Recently, Mankiewicz has introduced Boeing and Airbus approved paints that prevent reflection of harsh and dedicated LED light.

Panasonic Avionics develops inflight entertainment and communications (FEC) and cabin management solutions for commercial aircraft. Currently, Panasonic is seeing an increased demand for companion apps, allowing passengers to receive IFEC on their own personal devices. The team is also addressing the need for increased in-flight optimization connectivity for real-time content and aircraft data with minute visibility. Both systems use Panasonic’s “Zero Touch” technology.

Pexco Aerospace | Advanced Extrusion Injection Molding
Pexco Aerospace manufactures and supplies aerospace plastic components to OEMs and distributors using advanced extrusion injection molding and other methods and materials. Switching from thermo-forming to the extrusion method can produce cost savings up to 70%. Interior components offered include trim and finish for aircraft panels, lighting lenses, diffusers, heat sinks and housings, and flooring seat track covers, thresholds and kick strips.

SkyPaxxx | Sky-Tiles
SkyPaxxx Interior Repairs exclusively distributes Sky-Tiles, manufactured by Interface, a 100% recyclable carpet option that offers installation without removing seats, selective replacement and drop-in retrofits. SkyPaxxx recently completed a Boeing 737-800 installation and a partial ATR 42 installation in the past year. Rick Lockhart, president, says that next year will be SkyPaxxx’s biggest year with lease return programs, and is currently seeing an uptick in the repair shop side of the business. The 50,000 sq. ft. facility is at 95% capacity, although it fluctuates.

STG Aerospace, a developer and manufacturer of photoluminescent signs, emergency floor-path marking systems, LED mood lighting and ancillary aircraft lighting solutions certified liteMood in March 2017. LiteMood is an LED reading light system that can replace Boeing 737 NG and 757 incandescent reading lights.The liteMood LED Reading Light is designed to reduce glare on tray tables, eBooks and tablets and has a high color rendering index (CRI) which renders colors more vividly.
