Gradual Recovery For Commercial MRO In Europe Widely Expected

The current Commercial Fleet & MRO Forecast by Aviation Week Intelligence Network sees the industry recovering from the events of the COVID-19 pandemic playing out over the next several years.

While Europe’s commercial aftermarket was especially hard hit in the wake of last year’s COVID-19 crisis, a gradual recovery in MRO demand is widely expected after accounting for effects from fleet changes, retirements and new deliveries, as well as utilization, and the impacts from next-generation aircraft and engines steadily replacing legacy fleets. Last year’s pre-COVID data showed a projected outlay of $23.1 billion in 2021 for the continent. The revised forecast now estimates $18.6 billion will be spent this year.
