Bill Kircher took over the role of CEO at CTS Engines on June 3, replacing Vesa Paukkeri, who is transitioning to the role of chief commercial officer in Helsinki, Finland. The changes are designed to accelerate the company’s growth strategy while retaining stability.

Paukkeri joined CTS in 2012 when CTS was transitioning from “a dedicated jet engine field service and hospital shop to a full-service engine overhaul provider under a new ownership,” according to a recent LinkedIn post of his.

He is returning to Finland for personal reasons but will perform the CCO role to continue growing the engine business.

Kircher, who previously was executive vice chairman, retains that role and assumed the CEO position, as well. He has more than 25 years of aviation industry experience—including servicing as Triumph Group’s executive vice president of Triumph Systems and Support and 18 with United Technologies, including serving as president of Pratt & Whitney’s MRO operations in Asia, based in Singapore.

CTS, based near Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, is in the process of moving to a new facility in Coral Springs that will nearly double its footprint to 215,000 ft.2 from the existing 110,000 ft.2 one.

CTS services mature engines, including several GE CF6 variants, the Pratt & Whitney PW2000 and Engine Alliance GP7200.
