Argo MRT Americas has acquired Techni-Air 2000, a Montreal-based aircraft maintenance provider. The acquisition introduces a second service line for Argo that will focus on line maintenance in Canada.

Argo is not disclosing transaction details of the deal, but a representative for the company says the companies will continue to operate in parallel while they explore opportunities for synergy and assess “the feasibility of offering a comprehensive service under one roof.”

“This strategic acquisition is a significant value addition for the Argo Group as it strengthens our service offerings and considerably expands our global footprint,” said Argo Group CEO Marcus Schulz in a statement.

Techni-Air 2000 holds maintenance approvals from the FAA, Transport Canada, European Union Aviation Safety Agency and UK Civil Aviation Authority. It has type ratings on a range of Airbus, Boeing and Bombardier aircraft and provides services such as line maintenance, borescope inspections, structural and composite repairs, light base checks, and cabin and avionics modifications. It operates 15 line stations across Canada.

Established in 2021, Argo MRT Americas is a joint venture between Drakkar and Argo Aviation Group that specializes in mobile repair and maintenance services, such as AOG and logistics support. It is headquartered in Montreal and also operates an office in Toronto. Earlier this year, it was certified by Transport Canada as an approved maintenance organization.

In addition to its Americas operations, Argo Aviation Group operates an Argo MRT subsidiary in the UK. The company is also pursuing expansion in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. According to a representative, “Argo Aviation Group has continued their planned expansion into the APAC region, completing their first phase regarding the implementation of framework and service definition/offering.”
