
AirDo’s Pokemon Paint Job
Japanese regional airline AirDo, formerly known as Hokkaido International Airlines, debuted a new Pokemon-themed paint job in late 2021. The aircraft was painted by MRO Japan using AkzoNobel’s Aerodur 3001/3002 basecoat clearcoat system and features 11 special colors customized by AkzoNobel.

Delta’s Team USA Livery
In honor of its partnership in the Olympic and Paralympic Games Los Angeles 2028, Delta Air Lines debuted a custom Team USA livery in late 2021. The livery design on the Airbus A330-900 was developed by the airline’s in-house creative studio, Window Seat, and painted internally by a crew at Delta TechOps.

Air Canada Turns Red
On Feb. 8, 2022, Air Canada unveiled its first movie-themed livery on an Airbus A220. The design was created in anticipation of Disney and Pixar’s new movie Turning Red, which is set in Toronto. The aircraft was painted internally by an Air Canada Maintenance crew.

Emirates Cricket Design
To celebrate the return of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Emirates unveiled a themed Airbus A380 livery on Oct. 17, 2021. Emirates Engineering applied a special decal over the aircraft’s fuselage featuring cricket players, and the aircraft will make visits to countries that play the sport, including the UK, South Africa and the Netherlands.

Allegiant’s Raider Nation Livery
Las Vegas-based airline Allegiant debuted a custom livery in September 2021 celebrating its hometown football team, the Las Vegas Raiders. The Airbus A319 was painted with a design that incorporates Allegiant’s signature livery elements, such as a flowing ribbon encircling the fuselage and a sunburst tail, alongside Raiders colors and logos.

Southwest’s Patriotic Paint Job
In June 2021, Southwest unveiled a patriotic custom livery celebrating its 50-year anniversary. The Boeing 737-800—the airline’s first to receive a unique paint scheme—was painted in Spokane, Washington over the course of 14 days using more than 60 gallons of paint and primer.

Alaska’s Education and Equity Livery
Alaska Airlines unveiled a custom livery in April 2021 honoring its commitment to education and equity. The airline says its employees inspired the design following conversations with its internal Alaska Air Group Black Employees, Allies and Advocates group around civil unrest in the summer of 2020. The Boeing 737-900 ER features artistic renderings of students connected to Alaska’s employees alongside quotes from social activists such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela.

Saudia’s 75th Anniversary Livery
Saudi Arabian Airlines unveiled a special 75th anniversary livery in September 2021 on a Boeing 787-9. The design features the faces of three Saudi Royal Family members and it was painted by Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries.

Royal Jordanian’s Petra Livery
To promote tourism to Jordan, Royal Jordanian debuted a custom livery on Oct. 17, 2021 on a Boeing 787 aircraft. The design is inspired by the city of Petra, a famous archaeological site in Jordan.
