Air Works will expand its line maintenance network to the Middle East by setting up a repair station in Dubai with a domestic specialist. 

The Indian MRO provider says it has entered into a long-term service agreement with the United Arab Emirates-based Mach Technik, which was set up in 2019. The partnership will operate at Dubai International Airport.

Establishing a presence in Dubai will be Air Works’ first line station venture beyond India, where it has 19 locations. The company says that as part of the agreement, it will extend its quality system to induct Mach Technik’s certifying staff within its quality assurance system.

Mohammed Al-Humaidi, chairman of Mach Technik Aircraft Maintenance, says the agreement will aid both companies with their offerings to both UAE and overseas customers. “With burgeoning air traffic, Dubai and other leading regional airports represent a cradle of opportunities, and beginning with line maintenance, we intend leveraging our mutual synergies not just within the UAE, but the entire Middle East region and beyond it,” he says.

Headquartered in Delhi, Air Works holds certifications from 25 civil aviation regulators to maintain both narrowbody and widebody aircraft. 

The company has grown maintenance capacity at its facilities in India throughout the past two years by around 40%. This includes the addition of a new twin hangar, narrowbody facility at Cochin International Airport in Kochi.
