Intel introduces new militarized processors, microcontroller.
Intel Corp. has introduced militarized versions of three of its commercial computer products which are designed for use in avionics and other military applications.
One, the IntelDX4 processor, is based on the commercial i486 chip. Applications eyed by Intel include electronic warfare, radar, electro- optical and target acquisition systems, data terminals and ground stations.
