Spirit AeroSystems Signs Agreement With Joramco For Repair Services
Spirit AeroSystems signed an agreement with Joramco on March 1 at MRO Middle East, making the Amman, Jordan-based MRO an authorized service center. This follows a memorandum of understanding that the two companies signed in 2022. Jormaco initially will provide nacelle repair services for IAE V2500, CFM International CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B engines, although the companies anticipate expanding the capabilities to other platforms, including widebody aerostructures, such as on the Boeing 777.
Etihad Plans Abu Dhabi Maintenance Facility Expansion
In one of multiple announcements, Etihad Engineering confirmed plans to expand the capacity of its aircraft maintenance facility adjacent to Abu Dhabi International Airport. In addition to adding 50,000 m2 (approximately 540,000 ft.2) of incremental space to the facility, it will build two new widebody hangars at the site.
Emirates Signs LHT MRO Contracts
Emirates has signed two major MRO contracts with Lufthansa Technik (LHT) for services on its Airbus A380 aircraft. Under the deals, LHT will overhaul main landing gears and provide base maintenance. The latter agreement is Emirates’ first time outsourcing heavy checks for A380s.
SAEI, Lufthansa Technik Middle East Collaborate For Parts Services
Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries (SAEI) and Lufthansa Technik Middle East (LTME) have signed an agreement related to aircraft component services. Over the next 10 years, LTME will provide component support to SAEI's Saudia Airlines affiliate's 57 Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft fleets. The contract encompasses 39 777s and 18 787s. (13 787-9 and five 787-10). For all these aircraft, SAEI will have 24/7 access to Lufthansa Technik’s global components pool.
Kazakh Airline Grows Jordan Airmotive Ties
Jordan Airmotive and Kazakhstan-based carrier Scat Airlines signed a new general terms agreement for maintenance services related to its CFM56-7B engines. The new contract adds to an ongoing collaboration for CFM56-3 engines which begun 10 years ago.
Joramco C Check Agreements
Joramco has signed an agreement with Air Europa to perform C checks on four Boeing 787 aircraft. It has also signed its first agreement with Cebu Pacific, under which it will perform C checks on its Airbus A330 aircraft starting this month.
Safran, ST Engineering Sign License Deal For LEAP-1A Nacelles
Safran Nacelles and the commercial aerospace business of ST Engineering have signed a license agreement for MRO repairs for Airbus A320neo’s LEAP-1A nacelles.
Atitech To Service Aircraft For Irish Lessor
Ireland-based leasing company Aergo Capital has signed an agreement for Italian MRO Atitech to undertake 12-year checks on five Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The work will take place in Naples and also includes modifications services.
