Aviation Week parent Informa has announced plans to buy Clarion, the organizer of the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) event series.

Informa is buying Clarion for an enterprise value of about £2.24 billion ($2.96 billion), the acquirer said Oct. 6.

The deal marks an end to Informa’s pause on acquisitions that came after a period of rapid growth through dealmaking.

Clarion, best known in the defense and aerospace industry for its London-based biennial DSEI gathering, also next year runs DSEI Japan, DSEI Germany, Apex Defense in Washington, military training event ITEC and others.
