PARIS—MBDA and its partner Fly-R have agreed to develop the Diamond loitering attack munition in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The contract cements a handshake agreement put in place during the Dubai Airshow a few months ago with the UAE’s Tawazun Council to localize work. The contract, disclosed during the Eurosatory defense expo here, calls for qualifying the system and preparing mass production for the rhomboidal wing system, MBDA said June 18.
The tube-launched system was initially intended for ground launch, though the companies also envision air launch effect and maritime applications.
