From The Archives: 65 Years Ago In Aviation Week

An English Electric T.4 jet trainer flies with a P.1B fighter on its wing, on the cover of this week's issue, 65 years ago. Each aircraft is carrying two de Havilland Firestreak infrared homing missiles and a ventral tank for extra fuel. The T.4 was powered by two Rolls-Royce Avon turbojets with afterburners.
