How Boeing Will Fix The KC-46’s Biggest Issues

Boeing is replacing the cameras in the KC-46 remote vision system to fix quality issues that have plagued the tanker fleet. These images are screenshots from the new camera system, which will be displayed to a boom operator through a 4K LCD screen projecting onto a mirror to create a more immersive experience, the company says. The system has full-color displays for daytime refueling, a long-wave infrared camera for night refueling and a covert mode in which all of the tanker’s exterior lighting is off.
